TSG Hoffenheim win Baden-Derby

TSG Hoffenheim beat SC Freiburg 2-1 to claim their third win in a row and keep up their unbeaten record this season. Sandro Wagner scored the opener in the first half but his goal was cancelled out by Florian Niederlechner. But Andrej Kramaric converted a penalty in the second half to secure the victory for TSG Hoffenheim.

Line-up and tactics:

All players who were out on international duty returned to Hoffenheim in full fitness. Julian Nagelsmann made no changes to the starting line-up that faced Ingolstadt two weeks ago. Kevin Vogt, Niklas Süle and Benjamin Hübner played in defence in front of Oliver Baumann in goal. Sebastian Rudy, Lukas Rupp, Jeremy Toljan, Pavel Kaderabek and Kerem Demirbay played in midfield. Andrej Kramaric and Sandro Wagner started upfront.

TSG Hoffenheim didn’t make their first substitution until the 75th minute when Lukas Rupp was replaced by Eugen Polanski.  A few minutes later TSG made a double substitution with Demirbay and Hübner making way for Nadiem Amiri and Ermin Bicakcic.

Moment of the match:

SC Freiburg equalise, TSG go back in front just two minutes later. Kramaric wanted to score, he kept his cool and converted from the spot, the winning goal for TSG. Kramaric has been directly involved in seven goals in his last six Bundesliga appearances.

The number of the match: 3

“Three wins in a row would be nice,” said Julian Nagelsmann before the match. And his team did just that, coming out on top against Schalke, Ingolstadt and Freiburg. Third win of the season, the second at home. TSG are still unbeaten in this Bundesliga season.
