Ermin Bicakcic extends until 2020

Ermic Bicakcic has extended his contract with TSG by three years. The Bosnian defender has committed himself to the club until at least 2020.

“Ermin is a reliable defender with an exceptional mentality,” said sporting director Alexander Rosen, on Bicakcic. Since his move to Hoffenheim around two years ago, he has “not only won the support of fans through his passionate style of play, but also his open and honest personality.” For Rosen, Bicakcic’s contract extension until 2020 is "clear proof of the TSG identity.”

Bicakcic himself said: “I feel very comfortable here in Hoffenheim. I am really happy about the trust that the board and the team have shown on me. I see that as confirmation of my performances on the pitch.”

Having grown up in Heilbronn, the Zvornik born defender has scored two goals in his 14 international appearances for the Bosnia-Herzegovina national side so far. A particular highlight with the national team was his participation at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Bicakcic has played 48 Bundesliga games for TSG, scoring one goal. He has started 45 of those games, whilst also playing in six DFB Cup games. Overall, the defensive rock has made 80 appearances in the Bundesliga from his time with VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Braunschweig.
