Borussia Mönchengladbach match reaction

We caught up with Markus Gisdol, Lucien Favre and a few players following TSG's 4-1 defeat to the Foals.

Markus Gisdol: We played well in the opening stages and could have been 2-0 in front. Steven Zuber's goal should have stood as he wasn't offside. Gladbach are in good form and we weren't able to play our best team today. We were without Schwegler, Polanski and Bicakcic so we were lacking some chemistry and a side like Gladbach took advantage of that. They scored a goal with every counterattack. That's impressive and they deserved to win. We didn't get the right result but maybe we didn't deserve to lose by that many. We'll analyse the game quickly and then concentrate on the cup tie against Dortmund. I hope that we'll have more players back by then.

Lucien Favre: We wanted to pick up points but we knew it would be tough. Finally we've won here. TSG had three or four good chances to score and we had a bit of luck. The fourth goal was very important because you're never sure when you only have a two-goal lead. You have to remember that Hoffenheim were without Schwegler and Polanski. That meant they were lacking stability and we took advantage of that.

Sebastian Rudy: We started well but we eased off after we conceded. We did better after half time and showed a desire to score. The fourth goal wasn't good for our morale but we didn't give up and continued to get forward. We have to forget the game quickly and concentrate on the cup.

Andreas Beck: A lot of things didn't go well today, but we lacked a bit of luck against very strong opponents. You need that against a top side like Gladbach. They punished every mistake we made.

Patrick Herrmann: We put in a great performance. We did a lot of things well and we deserved to win. I have never scored a hat-trick in a Bundesliga game before so it's nice to have done that, even though one of them didn't count.
