Eintracht Frankfurt match reaction

Here's what Markus Gisdol, Thomas Schaaf and players from both sides had to say following TSG's 3-2 triumph against the Eagles.

Markus Gisdol: I think you could clearly see why we were cautious about Frankfurt. They were the team of the hour before today with three wins in a row and were full of confidence. The game got off to a tragic start for us with the injury of Niklas Süle. The team then needed a bit of time to find their rhythm. We're presuming that it's a serious injury. The game then became open after the interval. Both teams wanted to win. We would like to have scored the third goal when leading 2-1. The side gave it their all until the final whistle. The willpower was amazing and led to the win today.

Thomas Schaaf: We're disappointed as we prepared to take something today. We could have done that. But we simply made too many errors today. Some things weren't as good as they were in the past weeks. Both sides had lots of chances and my team came from behind to draw level twice. Therefore I'll take lots of positives from this even if we are a little annoyed about the defeat.

Kevin Volland: That was a spectacle in Sinsheim today. We played with passion today and that was what led to the decisive goal. Of course we're delighted to have won the game as Frankfurt put us under a lot of pressure, that wasn't easy. We defended with passion and fought until the death.

Pirmin Schwegler: That was a special game for me as you won't forget that it in five years time. The game was in the balance on several occasions as everytime Frankfurt went forward they looked dangerous. You could see that they were full of confidence. Our boss is allowed to go bonkers too if we score a late winner like that.

Adam Szalai: We deservedly won the game today and are of course delighted about it. It was a very good day for us today, on which the better side won. We have to see out games like this earlier, that has to change. We'll think positively though and are delighted about the win.

Timo Hildebrand: I felt good on the pitch today despite the long term absence and it was good fun. Football writes comical and crazy storylines like this sometimes and it's a shame that it didn't go in our favour today or lead to any points for us.
