BVB match reaction

Here are the thoughts of Markus Gisdol, Jürgen Klopp and players after TSG's 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Markus Gisdol:We saw a relatively balanced game in the first half, in which both teams kept the game tight inside their boxes. We didn't managed to create chances. Dortmund had exactly one and it resulted in a goal. If you go behind against Dortmund then it's hard to come back. We had a massive chance just after the break, which was unbelievably cleared off the line by Mats Hummels. From then on, Dortmund reminded me of their former self, they defended superbly and countered dangerously. There were bad decisions for both sides unfortunately. Dortmund would have been out of sight should the 2-0 have been awarded. But I think that we should have had a penalty just before the end. Dortmund deservedly won.

Jürgen Klopp:I'm exhausted and relieved. It was a really intense game. We created lots of chances in the second half especially. We put into practice what we prepared really well. The side covered lots of ground. We'll of course gladly take these three points. 14 points won't do though, we'll keep at it.

Kevin Volland:We let them have too much at the back today. Dortmund didn't have that many chances in the first half, but then did after the interval. We have to work on that and show a reaction against Frankfurt.

Andreas Beck:There's a lot we can do better. We created too few chances today. That just won't suffice against a side like BVB. We now have two tricky home games ahead of us, in which we of course want to pick up points.

Mats Hummels:We put in a top performance today. We perhaps had a bit of luck towards the end with that moment with Elyounoussi. Sebastian Kehl addressed us before the game. That wasn't salvation yet though. I arranged with Mitch Langerak to clear the free-kick from Rudy in I did. He should have stayed in his corner.
