Hamburg match reaction

Markus Gisdol: Directly after the game, I'm obviously a little disappointed with the result. After going 1-0 up we had chances to score again. We gifted them the equaliser. Tarik Elyounoussi should have scored just before half time. If we went into the break leading, it would have been a different game for us. It was a difficult match. We played against a good team who have great supporters. There were plenty of chances for both teams in the second half but the goalkeepers were in fine form.

Josef Zinnbauer: We gave Hoffenheim too much space in the first half. They caused us numerous problems though the middle. My team gave their all and deservedly equalised. We had chances to win, but a 1-1 draw against one of, if not the best counterattacking side in the league is creditable. With a bit more luck we may have won, but we're happy with a point against a good side.

Kevin Volland: Hamburg played well in the second half and created many chances; we didn't counter strongly enough after the break. We need to improve this in preparation for next weekend's game against Paderborn. HSV defended with everything they had and made it difficult for us.

Andreas Beck: We didn't lose the game but know that we can play better. We were good in the first half and had the chances to make it 2-1. HSV caused us problems in the second half and we didn't counterattack effectively. It was a fair result.

Oliver Baumann: We played well as a team today and fought for a point against a HSV side who improved after the break. We lost the ball too easily in the second half. We need to keep possession better in future matches.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga: I can't explain how we didn't win that game. We gave it our all and created some incredible chances, especially Zoltan Stieber's one. I'm happy to have helped the team by scoring a goal, but would rather have helped them pick up the three points.

Heiko Westermann: We played against a great team; they have an excellent attack. I thought we were the better team on the day, but we are happy with a point nonetheless.
