Germany U21s: Kevin Volland scores in 3-0 win over Ukraine

Kevin Volland made a first big step to EURO 2015 with the Germany Under-21s last night. Horst Hrubesch's side secured a 3-0 away win in the first leg of their play-off against Ukraine.

Kevin Volland didn't just lead the DFB-Team onto the pitch as captain; he also scored the goal to make it 2-0 in the 61st minute. The “Hofmann duo” provided the other goals – Philipp of 1. FC Kaiserslautern opened the scoring, before Jonas of 1. FSV Mainz 05 wrapped up the win. Germany will play the second leg in Essen this coming Tuesday as they aim to secure their ticket for the 2015 European U21 Championship in the Czech Republic.

Elyounoussi wins with Norway – Denmark U21s held to draw with captain Vestergaard

The Norway national team celebrated their first victory of the European qualifiers thanks to a 3-0 win over minnows Malta. Tarik Elyounoussi played the full 90 minutes. The goals were scored by Mats Mà¸ller Dà¦hli and Joshua King (2). Norway are now third in Group H, behind leaders Italy and second-place Croatia.

Jannik Vestergaard also played in the European U21 Championships play-offs last night, with his Denmark side drawing 0-0 at home to Iceland. The TSG defender will also face a second leg on Tuesday night, when he and his teammates will hope to confirm their spot at the tournament.
