USC Paloma match reaction

We asked the players and the manager for their thoughts after the 9-0 win over USC Paloma.

Markus Gisdol:We started the game very focused. The lads went full throttle and deservedly totted up the goals with a great performance. We were a little bit casual in the second half and weren't as serious. But all in all I'm happy. The atmosphere here was great. They also provided the fans with an entertaining afternoon away from the pitch. Paloma have really presented themselves well as a club.

Oliver Baumann:We went into the tie like we would a Bundesliga game. That is important and shows the character of this team. I didn't have a whole lot to do myself. I spoke with the players in front of me a lot and made sure that we were well organised, which we were.

Sven Schipplock:Obviously, as a striker, you try to knock some in. It's all the nicer when it works out as well as it did today. I don't think I've ever scored as many as that before in professional football. It was good fun today. The atmosphere in the stadium was great. Every action was being cheered. This competition means a lot to us, so we looked to wrap it up as early as possible and we managed that.

Eugen Polanski:We wanted to take a simple approach to the game. We did that in the first half, but not really after the break. In a match like today, it's about embracing the role of favourites. We will have to have a chat about that second half.
