Oliver Baumann signs for TSG

TSG have completed the transfer of Oliver Baumann from fellow Bundesliga side SC Freiburg. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract until June 30th 2018.

Alexander Rosen, sporting director at TSG: “Oliver Baumann will lend us even more stability with over 130 Bundesliga games worth of experience and his undisputed sporting quality. Moreover, we're confident that, as a person, Oliver fits in with our young team. We're very happy that he has opted for TSG and the path that we're on.”

“After 14 years at SC Freiburg, I'm very keen to learn a new surrounding,” said Oliver Baumann. “Hoffenheim have really shaken up the league lately with their very attacking playing style. I will try to provide a solid backing to help this playing style develop even more. I'm looking forward to the challenge.”

Born in Breisach am Rhein, Baumann joined SC Freiburg back in 2000. After spells in the youth sides and the reserves, the 1.87m goalkeeper made the step up to the first team in 2010. Baumann made 131 Bundesliga appearances for SCF. He also featured for them in six Europa League games. International experience is something he has also collected with the Germany national team's youth sides (U18s, U19s, U20s and U21s).
