History: TSG unbeaten at the "Betze"

On Monday evening at 20.30 CET, Hoffenheim travel to 1. FC Kaiserslautern for the fourth time in the club's history and it has been so far, so good for TSG. Two wins and one draw leaves Hoffenheim in a positive frame of mind. In terms of the second leg of the relegation playoff though, these stats have little bearing.

Hoffenheim's first win against the “Red Devils“ came back in the 2007/8 season in the second division. In that 2-0 victory Sejad Salihovic, the man who set up Roberto Firmino for his first goal last week, was on the pitch.

Twice the two sides have faced each other in the Bundesliga at the “Betze.“ In the 2010/11 season, there was a 2-2 draw on matchday four. In the 2011/12 season though, Hoffenheim went one better winning 2-1. Salihovic scored a penalty to make it 1-0 before Boris Vukcevic scored the eventual winner. The likes of Andreas Beck, Fabian Johnson, Salihovic, Firmino and Sven Schipplock were all involved then and have the chance to be involved again on Monday evening. Hoffenheim must make sure they defend their 3-1 lead from the home game so as to keep their spot in the top flight.
