Werder Bremen match reaction

Here is the match reaction following TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's 2-2 draw with SV Werder Bremen:

Markus Gisdol: Our second goal was an emotional moment for everyone. I think our late equaliser was fully deserved. If you think what my lads had to deal with after such an early penalty, all you can say is: credit to them. I am very proud. The decisive factor was that we never gave up and in the end, we rewarded ourselves. We didn't do anything silly, we just kept on playing football. Alongside the character of our side, that was what pleased me the most.

Andreas Beck: It was a game that definitely didn't go to plan. The penalty was controversial in my opinion. There were a number of difficult situations today but we found it hard to get going. The fact we can take a point here today is golden.

Sven Schipplock: The manager simply asked me to go in and give everything. The fact that something came of those efforts is fantastic. We didn't hide away and our travelling fans never stopped supporting us. In the end, we got our reward.

Thomas Schaaf: It was a hectic final few minutes. We lacked the calmness we needed and sadly, we didn't hold on until the end. We will look forward though and in one week, Frankfurt arrive here. We should have decided the game with a third goal. We took to the pitch full of drive though and that rewarded our fans for their fantastic efforts. It was an extraordinary game.
