TSG sign David Abraham from Getafe

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have signed Argentinian defender David Abraham. The 26-year-old will move from Spanish first division side FC Getafe with immediate effect and has signed a contract with TSG until 2016.

Abraham made nine appearances this season for the side currently placed eleventh in the Primera Division. In his time at FC Basel (2009-2012), the 6'2'' central defender won the Swiss league title three times and was twice a cup winner as well. He has also appeared in 18 UEFA Champions League matches as well as six UEFA Europa League games.

TSG sporting director Andreas Müller: “Right from our first conversation, he has shown a lot of readiness to take on the mission here in Hoffenheim. I'm convinced that he will be able to help us.”

Manager Marco Kurz said: “David has a huge amount of experience at the top level for a player of his age. His real strengths are his pace and his ability in one-on-one situations. I'm pleased that we could get him in.”
