TSG bring in goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes from Spurs

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have strengthened their ranks with the immediate signing of Heurelho Gomes (31) from Tottenham Hotspur. The Brazilian will join on loan from London for the rest of the season

Gomes has played in goal 95 times in the Premier League for Spurs. He previously spent four years at Dutch first division club PSV Eindhoven, making 123 appearances. Gomes has played in European competitions 61 times, with 42 of those appearances coming in the UEFA Champions League.

TSG sporting director Andreas Müller: “In Heurelho Gomes, we have a keeper who has a great deal of experience at the highest level both domestically and internationally. He will certainly contribute to helping TSG stay in the Bundesliga. I'm convinced of that.“

Heurelho Gomes began his professional career in his home country with Esporte Clube Democrate. He then moved to Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte, before leaving for Europe. The 31-year-old also has three international caps for Brazil.
