Vukcevic condition slowly stabilises – Team present poster

The condition of Hoffenheim player Boris Vukcevic has slowly stabilised since Monday. According to the doctors treating the 22 year old, who suffered severe head injuries in a car accident last Friday, he is still in a coma and his condition remains critical.

TSG sporting director Andreas Müller: “We draw on every positive message and strengthen our hope as a result, something that has been our priority since last Saturday. Our confidence grows and that makes it easier to, in some ways, get on with the daily routine.”

Vukcevic's parents were invited to TSG's training centre in Zuzenhausen on Wednesday and spoke to the sporting director, manager Markus Babbel and team psychologist Jan Mayer. They were presented with a featured poster for the injured player, created by the whole team.

Manager Markus Babbel: “Of course the players want to look after and visit Boris. It doesn't make any sense to go to the hospital at the moment though, because Boris needs to be in a relaxed environment. As a result, we are happy that his parents were here and that with this little gesture, we might be able to help Boris.”

Dragan and Sonja Vukcevic: “We are clinging to the hope that Boris pulls through. He's fighting and that allows us to hope. We are unbelievably grateful for the unprecedented amount of compassion shown in the last few days. Above all we were deeply moved by the support of the fans in the stadium last Saturday.”
