Rudy, Mlapa and Vukcevic make U21 squad

Germany U21 coach Rainer Adrion has called dup Hoffenheim trio Sebastian Rudy, Peniel Mlapa and Boris Vukcevic for the European Championship qualifier against Greece next Wednesday (kick-off 18.15) in Halle. The team can cement play-off qualification for Euro 2013 in Israel with a win next week.

Rudy, with 15 appearances for the Under-21s is the most experienced player of the three, while teammate Mlapa has scored eight goals already. Vukcevic's call-up is a reward for his form in the last two games for 1899; he has just returned to full fitness following a lengthy injury absence. The return fixture, played in Tripoli, was won in dramatic style 5-4 by Germany, with Mlapa grabbing a hat-trick, including a last-minute winner.
