Reaction to the match in Berlin

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's season ended in defeat as they were beaten 3-1 by Hertha BSC Berlin in the Olympic Stadium. What did the managers and players of the respective sides have to say about the result?

Markus Babbel: I congratulate Otto Rehhagel and his team on the win. The game started off quite slowly and we found ourselves a goal down thanks to a routine set-piece error. We came into it better after conceding but then had to deal with an unnecessary red card. In the second half, Hertha were always a threat, but credit to my team for finding a goal even when we were 2-0 behind. Looking at the game as a whole, Hertha deserved to win it.

Otto Rehhagel: The excitement in the stadium was unbelievable, as was the nerve factor. But we have managed to finish in the relegation play-off place by showing a lot of passion and fight. Of course we were lucky that Hoffenheim played much of the game with ten men. But we fought like lions and deserved the victory.

Sejad Salihovic: We really wanted to win the last game of the season and we put a lot into the match, but being a goal and a man down made it much harder for us to come back. But we showed that we never go down without a fight.

Boris Vukcevic: After the red card, we couldn't get enough of a grip on the game. But we didn't give up and managed to pull a goal back. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to take a point from the game.
