Hoffenheim part company with Stanislawski

Holger Stanislawski has been relieved of his duties as manager of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. It was agreed on Thursday morning by the coach and the club's management, in consultation with 1899's partners and advisory board, that Stanislawski's contract be terminated. His deal was due to run until June 2014, but after the disappointment of last night's German Cup exit at home to SpVgg Greuther Fürth, TSG have acted quickly.

Manager Ernst Tanner released the following statement today: “We value Holger Stanislawski as both a person and a competent coach. But after lengthy and constructive discussion with him, we have come to the view that it is best for everyone involved to bring the current situation to an end. Recent developments with the team have certainly been a factor in our decision.”

Before last night's loss to 2. Bundesliga team Greuther Fürth, TSG had managed just one win in its previous ten games. Assistant managers André Trulsen and Klaus-Peter Nemet have also left the club.

Thursday's training, conducted away from public viewing, will be led by the club's fitness coaches.
