Compper banned for three games

Central defender Marvin Compper has been suspended for three matches by the German Football Federation (DFB) after his red card for violent conduct in yesterday's German Cup quarter final.

Compper was harshly dismissed in the 34th minute of last night's game between TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and SpVgg Greuther Fürth after for foul play against an opponent. He was initially provoked by an opposition player, but referee Marco Fritz chose to show the TSG man a straight red. The club has decided not to appeal against the decision.
