Bundesliga fixtures released: Gladbach away, Eintracht home

The fixture list for the 2012/13 Bundesliga season was published by the German Football League (DFL) today. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have been given a tough trip away at Champions League participants Borussia Mönchengladbach, before hosting newly-promoted Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday two.

Gladbach were the surprise package of last season's Bundesliga, completing the league double over record league title-winners FC Bayern München and finishing in the Champions League places. But Hoffenheim will be encouraged by their performances against the Foals in the previous campaign. They were 1-0 victors at home and ground out at 2-1 win at Borussia Park at the back end of the campaign, inflicting Borussia's first defeat at home for 13 months in the process.

Manager Markus Babbel was happy with the draw. “I see our results against them last year as a good omen. The away win was a big step to us staying up last season. We will do our homework and make sure we have the best preparation for the game”, said Hoffenheim's head coach.

Eintracht Frankfurt were seasoned Bundesliga competitors before their relegation in 2011. But a string season in the 2. Bundesliga last season saw them finish second and secure an instant return to Germany's top flight. They will be 1899's first guests in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

The exact dates and times of the first six rounds of matches will be confirmed by the DFL at a later date. The full provisional fixture list is available at the following link:
