Babbel: "We couldn't react to the deficit"

All of the reaction after 1899's second defeat of the season:

Markus Babbel: “We played well for 20-25 minutes and had good goal opportunities that we simply had to take. Then we were 1-0 down and as a team, we weren't in the right position to react. We have to learn how to do that as soon as possible, because today won't be the last time we find ourselves behind.”

Kevin Volland: “We really should have scored two goals in the first half and after conceding the opening goal, we found it difficult to come back.”

Tim Wiese: “At the start of the game we had good chances to score and then, for whatever reason, we fell apart. After that we had to run after the ball a great deal and didn't enter into challenges with any real conviction. After both red cards, it was extremely difficult to defend.”

Armin Veh: “I'm delighted with my team. The first twenty minutes were even, both teams had good opportunities to score. The most important thing was that we took the lead.”

Sebastian Rode: “At the start, Hoffenheim had good chances but after our opening two goals, we had the game completely under control. All in all, I think we deserved the win.”
