Weis comes through operation with flying colours

1899 Hoffenheim midfielder Tobias Weis successfully came through an operation on his injured ankle earlier this week.

The injury hit 25-year old had returned to training in March following a seemingly successful recovery period from the initial injury. However, after a reoccurrence of the problem it was decided that surgery was required to understand the full extent of the injury and solve the problem as soon as possible. Weis underwent and arthroscopic procedure on his left ankle, which allowed the doctors to remove two bits of loose bone before the affected area was smoothed over, preventing further complications. Weis was due to remain in Augsburg until the end of the week, but will have to wait a full two weeks until he can walk freely once again. 1899 are unlikely to risk using the player again this season as it looks like he could be out for up to 6 weeks.
