TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 0-0 FC Bayern München – Match Reaction

The game ended goalless today between Hoffenheim and league leaders FC Bayern München. What did the respective camps think of the result?

Jupp Heynckes: “I said before the game that it would be tough coming to Hoffenheim. They're an exciting team and they play fast, flowing and attractive football. We saw that again today. We dominated in the fist 20 minutes, but then they came back into it and put us under al lot of pressure. Both sides played well and had their chances. A draw was a fair result.”

Holger Stanislawski: “Today it was important for us to show that we'd put the disappointing performance against Köln to the back of our minds. We showed the too much respect in the first 20 minutes, but then we started playing, and were dangerous for about 70-odd minutes. We could have won today as well. Normally I'm quite critical of the boys, but today I have nothing but praise for them.”

Andreas Beck: “The manager set us up well for the game and we were solid throughout. I just don't think we got the rewards our efforts deserved. We wanted to put last week right, and you saw that today in our performance. The crowd was fantastic too – they gave us a great reception even though we didn't win.”

Marvin Compper: “We played really well today, and one point is good, but we wanted three. But we're proud of the performance as well. If we had won it would have been a deserved victory.”

Dietmar Hopp: "That feels like a win today. The performance from the team was brilliant, for the whole game. And what a game it was! This was a 0-0 but it was anything but boring.”
