Simunic set individual training program

Josip Simunic will not be taking part in 1899 Hoffenheim's team training sessions as he bids to speed up his recovery process from a niggling injury by undertaking an individual rehabilitation training program.

After a brief meeting, Simunic, Marco Pezzaiuoli and Ernst Tanner all agreed it was the best course of action for the experienced centre-back. "On the one hand we've agreed that Josip needs time to recover from his muscle injury and get back to full fitness. However, at the same time we've made it clear that we haven't been 100% satisfied with his attitude in recent weeks. In the final stages of the Bundesliga season our club needs experienced players like Josip Simunic and we're hoping that he will accept that responsibility once he returns from injury", explained Pezzaiuoli. The 33-year old defender continues to struggle with the thigh injury that has limited his involvement during recent Matchdays, but is hoping to speed up his recovery by taking part in the tailor-made training routines organised for him by the club coaches.
