Reaction against VfL Wolfsburg

1899 Hoffenheim failed to convert their lead into points against VfL Wolfsburg on the final day of the Bundesliga season. It was a nail-biting afternoon that almost had a nasty twist in the tail for Wolfsburg. Here are the reactions of those involved in Saturday's match:

Marco Pezzaiuoli: For us today was only about improving our position in the table and we didn't manage to do that. VfL were more dominant throughout the match, but weren't able to use it to their advantage initially. We were much more aggressive in the second half and after taking the lead we had multiple opportunities to add to the score line. However, once again, true to our form this season, we failed to kill the match off.

Felix Magath: I'm absolutely drained, but incredibly relieved. It was a season like none other that I've ever experienced. The match today epitomised our season as far as we're concerned. We started the game well, but once against eased off at a crucial moment. When we went behind and heard the scores from around the league, that's when we kicked ourselves into top gear. The team then started performing to the best of their abilities and created real goal scoring chances that won us the match. We're all really pleased with the result.

Sebastian Rudy: We played well and can take a lot of positives from the match. Unfortunately we let the game slip through our hands again. We could have made it 2-0, but like so often this season, we played well and gave the lead away.

Andreas Beck: We had a lot of opportunities to extend the lead, but after the equaliser and the unlucky goal from a set piece, it was difficult to get ourselves back into the match.

Marcel Schäfer: We never gave up, not even when we conceded the first goal. We showed everyone what we are capable of in the second half and managed to turn the game in our favour.
