Reaction against St. Pauli

1899 Hoffenheim saved a point in the dying minutes of the match thanks to David Alaba's deflected effort ending the match against St. Pauli with a 2-2 draw. Here's what those involved had to say about the match:

Marco Pezzaiuoli: It was a match of two halves, which ended in a deserved draw for both teams. In the first half we enjoyed the lions share of possession, but failed in finding that final killer ball. After the break it all changed and what we did well in the first half was completely forgotten. Despite that I have to compliment my team, though, because they bounced back in the dying moments to prove they can play until the final whistle.

Holger Stanislawski: We're disappointed to only be leaving with a point. We were incredibly passive in the beginning and very held back. We didn't put in a good performance in the first 25 minutes. After we went 1-0 down, though, we were efficient and dangerous going forward. It's a shame we couldn't score a third to put the game beyond doubt, but in the end it was a fantastic match, we just didn't get what we deserved.

Tom Starke: After we took the lead we allowed St. Pauli back into the game too easily. We invited them onto us and it ultimately allowed them to score twice. For once, though, the late goal has gone our way.

Andreas Beck: In the second half we were far too complacent and it cost us. However, the fact that we were able to swing the game in the dying minutes will be good for moral.

Gerald Asamoah: When you go 2-1 up with little time left in the match it's difficult to except only coming away with a point.
