Reaction against Borussia Mönchengladbach

1899 Hoffenheim were disappointed following their 0-2 loss to bottom of the table Borussia Mönchenglach. Here's what those involved had to say about the match:

Marco Pezzaiuoli: Credit to Gladbach for the urgency they demonstrated in the game. We tried all week to figure out how to stop them and the team that could accomplish that, but in the end we disappointed in all areas of the pitch today. We certainly didn't deserve to take anything from the match, as Gladbach were clearly the better team, especially as we kept giving away the ball in dangerous areas, which definitely helped them.

Lucien Favre: The first half was incredibly tough, but we were happy with 0-0 after 45 minutes. We improved in the second half and managed to create a number of chances. Over the whole 90 minutes we deserved to take all three points today. We demonstrated more urgency than Hoffenheim, even if we gave the ball away a bit too often. The win today was crucial for our chances of surviving this season. We know it's going to difficult, but I'm convinced we can do it.

Ernst Tanner: We played well and stayed in touch for 60 minutes, but after we conceded the team fell apart completely. The reason fails me, but we definitely have a few things to work on.

Tom Starke: Our first half performance wasn't anything special, but it was acceptable, while we don't need to discuss the second half. We spend time trying to learn from our mistakes week in, week out, but we continue to make the exact same mistakes. I wasn't happy with the penalty decision, but de Camargo wanted it and finished coolly in the end.

Marvin Compper: We always seemed to be one step behind today and kept losing the decisive battles. A performance like we put in today won't win you any points, even against the team that are bottom of the league.

Michael Fink: We hardly lost a tackle in the midfield. You could feel the team's desire to win the match throughout the 90 minutes.
