Reaction against Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Despite taking the lead, 1899 Hoffenheim were unable to collect their first ever win against Bayer 04 Leverkusen as the second placed team came from behind to win 2-1 in front of their home fans. The win means Borussia Dortmund will have to wait a little while longer to celebrate a league title, but here is the reaction from those involved in Saturday's match:

Marco Pezzaiuoli:
We we're up against the in-form team in the second half of the season and put in a resilient performance. We defended well in the first half, but after we took the lead we failed to put the game to bed, despite turning their fans against them for a small period of the match.

Peter Hermann:
The defeat against Bayern last weekend was still fresh in our minds. In the first 45 minutes we weren't playing with any sort of confidence, but once we scored the equaliser we were on top of our game and fought until the very end to take a deserved victory.

Andreas Beck:
Right now we're just not playing the way we know we can. We performed really well in the first half, after the break though, we were far too complacent. We wanted to keep attacking on the counter in the second half too, but weren't given the chance as Bayer went from strength to strength and pinned us inside our own half.

Michael Kadlec:
Who scored the goal is irrelevant. Of course I'm happy that I've been credited with it. At the end of the day the most important thing was that we took all three points today.

Daniel Schwaab:
Hoffenheim certainly didn't make it easy for us today and we didn't do ourselves any favours in the first half either. Scoring an equaliser just before half time was crucial for us. That's when we really got into the game, but honestly we should have finished the game of sooner than we did.
