International matches – how did Hoffenheim's stars get on?

Things have been quiet at Hoffenheim in the last few days, due to a number of players from the first team squad being involved in international matches. Eight players were in action for their national teams, five of whom actually featured. Find out how our boys performed here.

Sebastian Rudy and Peniel Mlapa travelled with the under-21s to Paderborn for a friendly against San Marino. Rudy missed the game through suspension and followed the match from the bench, but Mlapa contributed a goal in a 7-0 win for Germany. On Tuesday, both of them will be in action in a Euro 2012 qualifier against Belarus.

Bosnian Sejad Salihovic converted a penalty in a Euro 2012 qualifier against Belarus in the 21st minute to make it 1-0, and the game ended in a 2-0 success for Bosnia.

Isaac Vorsah was involved in Ghana's qualifier for the African Cup of Nations, where they defeated Swaziland 2-0. Ghana also played a friendly match with Brazil in London yesterday, losing1-0.

Also in action in an African Cup of Nations qualifier was Chinedu Obasi, who helped Nigeria beat Madagascar 2-0 on Sunday. The 'Super Eagles' face Argentina in a friendly today.

Edson Braafheid travelled with the Dutch team for a Euro 2012 qualifier to San Marino. The Oranje celebrated a goalfest, winning the match 11-0. Braafheid didn't feature, but hopes to make an appearance in the team's next game against Finland (Tuesday, 06.09, 8pm).

Last but not least there was Yannik Vestergaard, who played the full 90 minutes of Denmark's under 21 friendly against FC Midtjylland. It was good preparation for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier against Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
