1899 set up camp in Feldkirchen

1899 Hoffenheim set off from Kraichgau on Wednesday afternoon as they travelled to Austria where they arrived in the early evening without complication at their base in Feldkirchen. Over the next 11 days Stanislawski's charges will be housed in Castle Mühldorf as they prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga season.

The little town of Feldkirchen in northern Austria, is an idyllic and peaceful location sitting right on the Danube. The team hotel is a little outside of the town with a population of 5,000 people. Enclosed behind a stonewall, the squad have access to top-notch facilities. “The pitch is in outstanding condition and the rooms are very nice”, stated assistant coach Andre Trulsen after their first training session.

Almost a full squad

New head coach almost had a full squad to take with him for the first pre-season training camp of the 2011/12 Bundesliga season. Certain players such as Manuel Gulde and Boris Vukcevic stayed in Zuzenhausen, Vukcevic to undergo surgery on his fractured fibula and Guldewho is yet to return from holiday. It meant that U23 players Florian Ruck and Daniel Lück were given the chance to train with the first team. On top of that Franco Zuculini and Prince Tagoe have both joined up with the squad as well.

3 friendlies in Austria

The team have been given little time to relax since arriving in Austria and they have got a heavily packed schedule for themselves over the coming days. Alongside daily training sessions, 1899 have organised three friendly matches starting with SV Ried on 9th July at 18:30 in Utzenaich. The following day they travel to Vienna to take on Rapid Vienna inside the Gerhard-Happel-Stadion at 17:30. The final match is against Polish opposition when the Sinsheim side face off against Legia Warsaw at 18:00, however, the location of the match has yet to be decided.
