1899 secure Sven Schipplock signing

1899 Hoffenheim's first summer signing in preparation for the new season has already been made official. In a familiar move Sven Schipplock makes the switch to the Kraichgau outfit from league and local VfB Stuttgart on a free transfer.

The 22-year old centre-forward has put pen to paper on a 3-year contract with 1899 Hoffenheim that will see him settle in Sinsheim until 30.06.2014. "I'm really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead in Hoffenheim and I'm confident my new club will be the ideal place to continue developing as a player", explained Schipplock, who in 11 top-flight appearances has only managed a solitary goal for VfB Stuttgart. However, playing for the reserves this year in the third division, the youngster has scored on 10 occasions in 14 matches. "Sven's in his early 20's, has shown he has a lot of potential and proven that his personality is a perfect match for Hoffenheim. I've got no doubt that, here, he'll be able to take the next step in developing his career", was manager Ernst Tanner's verdict. Tanner also revealed that Schipplock would be wearing the number 9 shirt for 1899 Hoffenheim next season.
