1899 Hoffenheim 1-1 SC Freiburg - Match Reaction

1899 Hoffenheim were held to a draw today thanks to a last-minute equaliser from SC Freiburg's Garra Dembelé. Find out here what the managers and players of the two sides had to say about the game:

Holger Stanislawski: “We started off well, controlled the game and deserved to be in front. We could have scored more but we didn't, and that cost us. In the second half we were very passive and didn't have any intensity to our game. In all fairness they deserved a point as well.”

Marcus Sorg: “We didn't get off to a great start. We gave the ball away too often and we looked sloppy in all areas. But that changed once we went a goal down. We improved a lot, and we showed some great character, especially in the second half. We deserved a point for our second half performance, and it would have been harsh on Oliver Baumann if he'd finished on the losing side. He was excellent for us today.”

Sejad Salihovic: “We had enough chances to score a second goal and we would have won if we had scored again. Naturally we're disappointed to concede so late in the game. In the second half our performance dropped slightly. We seem to be making things difficult for ourselves in games. Perhaps we're lacking confidence, but I'm confident we can turn it around.”

Julian Schuster: “In away games we always set up to keep things tight at the back. So it was disappointing that we conceded from a routine set-piece. But our reaction to losing the goal was great. We keep going right to the end, and I think it says a lot about us that we've scored late on in our last four games now. We're unbeaten in three and that's great for the confidence. Every point is vital.”
