Training in sight for Vorsah

Though Isaac Vorsah is still training individually with rehabilitation coach Christof Elser, the Ghanaian is hoping to be back in first-team training next week.

"Physically he's come a long way and he'll get his match sharpness back in full training," said Elser. "We're completely on schedule with the rehab programme." Vorsah's tore his knee ligaments in an away match at Hertha Berlin back in February, and the seriousness of the injury meant that his recovery time was substantially longer than that of Andreas Beck, who only ripped a part of the ligament, according to team doctor Pieter Beks. Still, the light at the end of the tunnel is gradually nearing for the 21-year-old and he is expected to join in first-team training with the rest of the squad next week. "My knee is stable and I have been able to train with the ball quite a lot which is promising. I've never been away from the ball for so long in my life," laughed the player himself.

Ralf Rangnick will be equally pleased to welcome the big Ghanaian back into the squad for the matches against Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart - the towering centre-back's defensive qualities are needed now more than ever.
