Quotes to the victory against Rostock

1899 Hoffenheim have successfully kicked off the new season with a 4-0 DFB Cup victory in Rostock. Here is what the players and coaches had to say after the game:

Ralf Rangnick (Head-coach 1899 Hoffenheim)

I'm happy and satisfied about our successful start into the season. Especially the way our offensive trio performed was pleasing. They assisted each other to their goals. We were lacking determination in the second half, but managed to defend our comfortable lead well.

Ernst Tanner (Sporting manager 1899 Hoffenheim)

Obviously we expected to secure a win. They way our boys accomplished this was very positive, a very good performance.

Andreas Beck (Captain 1899 Hoffenheim)

We entered the game in a good fashion and the early lead gave us more confidence. We put a lot of pressure on our opponents and that made life easy for us. We expected more difficulties from this game. It was an important victory in terms of our confidence for the Bundesliga match against Bremen next weekend.

Vedad Ibisevic (Striker 1899 Hoffenheim)

We showed a very good performance in the first half, but failed to continue in that fashion in the second half. But in the end the only thing that matters is that we progressed to the next round. A different calibre awaits us next weekend.

Peter Vollmann (Head-coach Hansa Rostock)

Hoffenheim deserved to win. We had too many mistakes in the first half and Hoffenheim used them clinically. We even assisted two of the goals ourselves. A Bundesliga side will not let opportunities like that slide. The second half performance of my team was however satisfying.
