Parting words from Carlos Eduardo

Carlos Eduardo has officially left 1899 Hoffenheim. Before the Brazilian packed his suitcase in Kraichbau, however, he took the time to give one final interview to achtzehn99.de.

Carlos, you've swapped Hoffenheim for Rubin Kasan in Russia. What made you take this next step in your career?
It is simply time for me to try something new. I want to use this move as the next step in my career and development. The Russian league is an attractive prospect, and of course I now have the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

You haven't just experienced the development of Hoffenheim - you played a vital part in it. What will you take from these last three years?
Only positive things. Above all I have made many great friends over the past three years. Luiz Gustavo has become like a brother to me. From a sporting perspective the promotion to the Bundesliga was amazing, as was the first half of our debut season. All in all my development will be aided by much of what I experienced here at Hoffenheim.

The Bundesliga is losing one of its' best players. Will you still continue to follow both Hoffenheim and the Bundesliga?
It goes without saying that I will continue to follow Hoffenheim. I will be cheering them on, allbeit from a distance. And who knows; maybe we'll meet again some time.

Here is your chance to say a few words to the Hoffenheim fans, if you could like to:
I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. Even in testing times I received the trust and support of the fans. I would like to wish 1899 and the fans all the best, and hope they go on to have a very successful season!
