Hoffenheim sign Icelander Gylfi Sigurdsson

The 20-year-old scored 16 times in 32 games for his former club, and has been handed the number 11 shirt for this season. Following his signing of the contract he will fly out to meet up with his international team mates. His Iceland side have two European Championship qualification games int he next week, against Norway (03/09) and Denmark (07/09). "Despite his young age Gylfi is a dangerous goal-scoring midfield player. We see massive potential in him", said manager Ernst Tanner.
