Hoffenheim obtain 6-0 test match victory in Rosenberg

The new season is approaching fast and thus the players from Hoffenheim are receiving special treatment in order to get more time on the pitch than just 45 minutes. The charity match took place on the playing grounds of TSV Rosenberg and instead of 90 minutes, it was decided to play 110 minutes. The approximately 2000 supporters would obviously not object to this fact, as they got to see more of Hoffenheim for the same price.

1899 Hoffenheim struggled to get into the game against a well organised team, made up of lower league players. The Bundesliga side dominated the possession and when their passing game was accurate, they immediately created danger on the oppositions penalty area. Hoffenheim required 37 minutes before they managed to take the lead however. Tobias Weis set up Vedad Ibisevic nicely and the striker headed the ball past keeper Benjamin Krauth into the back of the net.

In the previous two test match victories, coach Rangnick had opted to replace the entire line up at half time and he followed this principle here as well. Rain started to set in, but this did not cause 1899 to slow down and create further chances. Andreas Ludwig finally managed to convert one of his plenty chances in the 63rd minute to make it 2-0. Adam Jabiri was on target with ten minutes to go. The difference in quality then became very apparent in the final minutes of the game, as Hoffenheim scored three goals. Christoph Hemlein (108') and two goals by Boris Vukcevic (109'/110') marked the final scoreline of 6-0 for the Bundesliga club. "It was the best friendly match of our pre season preparation so far, because the opposition was a lot better. Taking the strenuous training sessions from the last few days into consideration, I must say that my team did well," said Ralf Rangnick after the final whistle.
