1899 players in international action

The players who took part in the early week international fixtures arrived back with 1899 Hoffenheim on Wednesday. By and large they enjoyed a lot of success.

Bosnia
Vedad Ibisevic and Sejad Salihovic had an up-and-down couple of days with Bosnia. In the Euro 2012 qualifiers, the national side firstly won 3:0 against Luxemburg, before going down 2:0 to crisis club France last night. Ibisevic came off the bench in both games, while Salihovic was simply there for moral support as he remains suspended.

Croatia
Croatia have made a positive start in the qualifying stage. After two games, Josip Simunic's side are leading the way in their group with four points. They comfortably defeated Latvia 3:0 on Friday, before losing their shooting boots as they were held to a goalless draw by Greece. Simunic played the full 90 minutes in both encounters.

Ghana
Isaac Vorsah and Prince Tagoe made the return to Zuzenhausen delighted with the three points their national side had gained. The "Black Stars" made a successful start to the Africa Cup of Nations qualification stage by defeating Swaziland. Tagoe got his name on the scoresheet, while Tagoe steadied the defence to maintain a clean sheet.

Iceland
It was a turn of unbelievable events that led to Hoffenheim's new signing Gylfi Sigurdsson ending up on the losing team this week. His Iceland team went down 1:2 to Norway, despite them home side going into the final minutes a goal to the good.

Germany U21
1899 was able to boast two of the players - Boris Vukcevic and Sebastian Rudy - that took part in Germany's 3:0 victory over Northern Ireland. Peniel Mlapa missed the game due to a minor calf injury picked up in the national side's tight 1:1 draw with the Czech Republic. Both Rudy and Mlapa played in the game against the Czechs.

Germany U19
The German U19 side also picked up a 3:0 victory. Dennis Thomalla played for Germany, while his 1899 team mate Jennic Vestergaard lined up for their opponents, Denmark. Bragging rights ended up with Thomalla, however, as his side won with relative ease.
