Successful weekend for Hoffenheim's international stars

The Hoffenheim international contingent enjoyed a successful weekend with five wins, two draws and just one defeat between them.

Demba Ba came on as a late substitute in Senegal's 1-1 draw with Angola in Lisbon and is now preparing for another friendly match against China on Wednesday.

The two Bosnians in the squad - Vedad Ibisevic and Sejad Salihovic - celebrated a 2-0 victory over Armenia. Salihovic played the full 90 minutes, while Ibisevic was substituted midway through the second half. Bosnia face Turkey on Wednesday in a crucial match which could decide who takes second spot in their World Cup qualifying group.

Croatia maintained their bid for automatic qualification from Group 6 thanks to a 1-0 victory over Belarus. Hoffenheim defender Joe Simunic played the full 90 minutes and is now gearing up for Wednesday's clash with England.

Hoffenheim's goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry had to endure a 2-1 defeat against Sweden with his native Hungary.

Pascal Groß made a brief appearance in Germany U19's victory over Belgium.

Nigeria missed the chance to go top of their qualifying group after conceding a last-minute equaliser against Tunisia. Chinedu Obasi battled for 90 minutes for the Super Eagles, but he could was helpless as the match finished 2-2.

Andreas Beck was not selected for Germany's friendly match against South Africa, while Isaac Vorsah sat out Ghana's 2-0 victory over Sudan. With that result, Ghana became the eighth team to qualify for next summer's World Cup finals.
