Benjamin Hübner followed in the footsteps of his father Bruno, who played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern and is the current sporting director at league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt. Hübner’s greatest achievement to date is winning the second division title with FC Ingolstadt, from whom he joined TSG ahead of the 2016/17 season. The centre back was one of the key reasons and players behind the newly-promoted side’s strong top-flight campaign. Above all, the 1.93m-tall defender impressed with his strength in challenges – he was ranked among the top ten players in 1v1 situations in the Bundesliga last term. “Benjamin is very strong in the air and, as a left-footer, gives us more playmaking options,” said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen about the defender.
