TSG overtake Waldhof in the all-time Bundesliga table

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are the new no.1 team in the Rhein-Neckar region. The win over VfB Stuttgart last weekend means that TSG now sit 27th in the all-time Bundesliga standings, overtaking neighbours SV Waldhof Mannheim.

Waldhof enjoyed a seven-year spell in the German top-flight from 1983/84 to 1989/90. Hoffenheim are currently playing their seventh season since promotion and have already leapfrogged Waldhof.

Both clubs have collected a total of 285 points in the Bundesliga, meaning they have averaged over 40 a season. With twelve matches left to play in 2014/15 though, Hoffenheim have the opportunity to put a gap between themselves and Waldhof. TSG have won a total of 74 matches, drawing 63 and losing 68. They have scored 345 goals and conceded 359 during their 225 top-flight games.

It will be a while until TSG can overtake the next club. Mainz 05 are in their ninth Bundesliga season so have played 68 games more and are 91 points ahead. achtzehn99.de will let you know when the time comes…
