Season over for Heurelho Gomes

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, 32, won't play any more part this season for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The first-team keeper broke a metacarpal bone in the 3-0 Bundesliga win against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday and will undergo surgery. The news was revealed after an examination at Heidelberg University Hospital. Gomes was involved in a coming-together with Düsseldorf's Andreas Lambertz in the 51st minute and had to leave the field. The Brazilian will be out for around eight weeks.

David Abraham's case is not as serious. The Hoffenheim central defender also had to be withdrawn on Friday due to injury. The Argentine suffered an adductor tear and will be unavailable for the time being.
